New era at modern Kingstown Port
The port operations in St Vincent and the Grenadines is entering into a new era to accommodate growing demands of international trade and cruise tourism, with the newly introduced Modern Port Operating Company(MPOC).
Yesterday, October, 13, 2025 the government of St Vincent and the Grenadines made the announcement of the management company at a press conference held at the new port located at Rose Place, Kingstown.
Chief Executive Officer of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Port Authority,(SVGPA), Carl James, said that born out of progress and growth, MPOC was established following the completion of the Modern Port Facility this year.
“The new development marks the development of a major transformation in how we manage trade, logistics and maritime services in SVG.”
James said for decades, port operations in the country relied on manual systems and basic infrastructure.
