A double strike from Garret Leigertwood- in the 74th and 90+1 minutes, and single strikes from Azhino Solomon, 89th; Steven Pierre, 29th, Cornelius Stewart,44 th; Oalex Anderson,14th; and Malcolm Stewart in the 90 + 4 minutes, accounted for the Vincentians’ tally.
It was a confidence booster for St Vincent and the Grenadines, currently ranked 172nd on the FIFA list, whilst Cuba sits at 167th .
Despite the lopsided scoreline, Vincy Heat’s Head Coach, Ezra Hendrickson, thought it was not a near perfect display by his charges.
“For me, I didn’t like the way we started the game; I though for the first five/ ten minutes, Cuba could be easily up one/ two nothing, that is something we have to address. At home we have to start much confident than we did. We weren’t organised defensively,” Hendrickson said. “We were giving them a lot of space so they were able to progress the ball in the middle of our field and got in our box a couple times.”
