Construction team hands over keys for Port buildings
The Administration Building and the Container Freight Station (CFS) of the newly constructed Kingstown Port have been formally transferred from the construction team to the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Port Authority (SVGPA).
The keys to the facilities were officially hand over on September, 16, 2025.
Minister of Urban Development Benarva Browne, speaking at the ceremony, said the project is a vital step in national development and represents a critical thrust in the country’s national development strategy.
Browne, who has ministerial responsibility for airports and sea ports, noted also that the new facility positions St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) on the path of enhanced economic opportunities.
The Administration Building is 64m x 19.3m, with a total floor area of 3,600m², and is valued at US$12 million, while the Container Freight Station is 1,560m², and is valued at US$5 million.
