THE GOVERNING Unity Labour Party (ULP), last Thursday, September 11, 2025, presented its full slate of candidates for approval at the party’s National Council meeting held at the Russell’s Auditorium.

Fourteen candidates were present at that meeting, with Prime Minister and Party Leader, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves offering apologies on behalf of the candidate for South Central Windward, Saboto Caesar who was at the time in Trinidad and Tobago attending to a family emergency.

The fourteen candidates present are:

North Windward – Dr. Grace Walters.

North Central Windward- Dr. Ralph Gonsalves.

South Windward- Darron Rodan John. East St. George- Camillo Gonsalves.

West St. George- Curtis King.

Marriaqua- St. Clair Prince.

East Kingstown- Luke Browne.

Central Kingstown- Marvin Fraser.

West Kingstown- Keisal Peters.

South Leeward- Grenville Williams.

Central Leeward- Orando Brewster.

North Leeward- Carlos James.

Northern Grenadines- Carlos Williams.

Southern Grenadines- Chevonne Stewart.

Regarded as, arguably the largest turnout for a meeting of the National Council, some 1,681 persons packed the inside of the auditorium leaving standing room only, with about 600 more persons on the outside.

Delivering the keynote address, party leader, Dr. Ralph Gonzales, called on party supporters to continue using their energy, to remain united, and not allow themselves to be distracted from the objective which is winning the next general election. He also spoke succinctly of the party’s achievements, programmes, polices, and projects currently underway, and to be implemented.

He announced that a special convention of the party will be held before the next general elections, at a date to be announced.
