Domestic worker killed at Long Wall
FAMILY MEMBERS of a woman who was killed at Long Wall say they suspect their relative was hacked by a person they all know very well.
On Tuesday, September, 9, 2025 a brother of Sharon Elizabeth Ashton, discovered her body at the back of the family home in Long Wall.
Ashton, a 43-year-old domestic worker of Longwall, had what appeared to be stab wounds, with damage to her head and shoulder, according to a relative who spoke to SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 on condition of anonymity.
The female relative said on the previous day she left the family home at 7:39 a.m. and at 9:40 a.m., she received a call from a male relative telling her that he had discovered Ashton at the back of the shared residence and she appeared to be dead.
The male relative then summoned the police who went to the scene. The District Medical Officer (DMO) subsequently pronounced Ashton dead.
The person who spoke to SEARCHLIGHT said Ashton was a cleaner and care worker and that she had no children. She said the person they suspect is close to the family and they have known him for over 19 years.
