RSVGPF most hacked of gov’t agencies
In St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), an analysis has found that the most hacked government entity was the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF).
The analysis also shows that the RSVGPF had the most hacking attempts.
This was revealed by Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Information Technology, Camillo Gonsalves on Tuesday, September, 2, 2025 at the conference room of the National Insurance Service (NIS).
He was speaking at the national launch of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Caribbean Digital Transformation Project (CARDTP) Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Public Awareness Campaign.
Gonsalves said the analysis was carried out by a regional entity on behalf of the government in an effort to find out how government agencies’ email addresses and passwords pop-up on the dark web, and what was the most popular and most porous ministry or entity affected by cyberattacks.
“We did an analysis recently of how government agencies and email addresses and passwords pop-up on the dark web, and the most popular and most porous ministry or entity was the police force, and you would be surprised at how much information existed through cyber security gaps in our security agency, because the police, as you would anticipate, integrates with a number of things,” Gonsalves stated.
