PM responds to US military strike on small boat off Venezuela

Prime Minister, Dr Ralph Gonsalves has responded to reports by the United States administration that its military had carried out the bombing of a boat and killing its occupants, while the boat was in Caribbean waters.

On Tuesday, September, 2, 2025, US President ,Donald Trump, announced that the US military had carried out an attack on an alleged drug boat off Venezuela, and 11 persons had been killed in the strike.

Prime Minister, Dr Ralph Gonsalves, commenting on the matter on radio on Wednesday, September, 3, 2025 said: “We don’t like it”.

His comment came ahead of a statement from the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

“CARICOM has declared the Caribbean as a zone of peace,” the Prime Minister stressed.
