Students return to new premises at Fitz Hughes Primary
CHILDREN WHO ATTEND the Fitz Hughes Primary School and Early Learning Development Centre return to a new, upgraded educational facility this term after the facility was handed over to the government on Friday, August 29, 2025.
The facility was upgraded at a cost of EC$3 million over one year, with financing being provided from the Caribbean Development Bank and the government.
Minister of Tourism and Culture, Carlos James, speaking at the ceremony, said the government has an A+ grade when it comes to educating the population.
James, who is also parliamentary representative for North Leeward, the constituency where the facility is located, said the new and upgraded facility
is just one project that makes up the A+ grade.
“…this is what our government is doing when it comes to education,” he told persons at the ceremony, adding, “and if there’s one thing you know that this government has an A plus grade in, is the delivery of quality education….”
