Israel Bruce wants civil servants to be paid twice monthly
OPPOSITION SENATOR, Israel Bruce is suggesting that public servants in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) should be paid fortnightly, instead of at the end of every month.
Speaking at a village meeting in Chapmans on Thursday evening, August 28, 2025, Bruce said he has seen civil servants in the South Central Windward constituency juggle from month to month to make ends meet.
Bruce, a lawyer by profession said at present, there are serious discussions ongoing within the NDP about that situation.
“I will continue to push that civil servants in this country receive their salary in two fortnights,” on the 15th day of the month, and on the 30th of each month, he stressed.
Bruce said civil servants will therefore receive will receive two payments in 30 days, and this, hopefully, will ease the burden on those who are having difficulty making ends meet.
