PM Gonsalves Lauds Justice Adrian Saunders as ‘A man of Great Integrity’

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves has highly praised Vincentian born Justice Adrian Saunders who will soon retire as President of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ).

Justice Saunders became President of the CCJ which is headquartered in Trinidad and Tobago, on July, 4, 2018.

A special sitting of the court was held in honour of his retirement on June, 3,2025, at Queen’s Hall in Port of Spain.

On Wednesday, June 4, Prime Minister Gonsalves said on NBC radio, that Justice Saunders is “ an outstanding Vincentian”.

The Vincentian Judge has retired after serving 48 years in the legal field and Dr Gonsalves said even at his retirement, Justice Saunders is “still at the top of his intellectual powers”.

The prime minister also described Justice Saunders as “ a great human being”.

“He is a man of great integrity and honesty and splendid legal mind.”

Commenting on the impending retirement in July, 2025, Dr Gonsalves expressed the hope that Justice Saunders will write an autobiography of his life experiences.

“He was an outstanding Judge here in the OECS, and Acting Chief Justice, the Prime Minister noted, as he also recalled some of his professional and other interactions with Justice Sunders.
