North Leeward schools dominate 2023 ‘Round de Town’ road relay

Schools from the North Leeward area dominated the 2023 Round de Town Road Relay held on Sunday to mark the commencement of the 2023 local athletic season.

The Chateaubelair Methodist, Fitz Hughes Government and the Troumaca Ontario Secondary walked away with all the titles in the schools division of the competition which various schools and track teams use to test their athletes in a competitive setting.

Fifty-three teams registered to compete in the competition which was held on September 24, 2023 in Kingstown.

The Chateaubelair Methodist School won the Girls Primary School Division in a time of 34 minutes 05.09 seconds, Fitz Hughes Government was second in 35 minutes 27.11 seconds, and third was another Chateaubelair Methodist School team in a time of 36 minutes 41.52 seconds.

The Fitz Hughes Government School won the Boys Primary School Division in a time of 30 minutes 43.06 seconds, Troumaca Government came in second in 31 minutes 47.43 seconds, and third was Chateaubelair Methodist in a time of 32 minutes 13.16 seconds.
