Gibson-Marks made to step down amidst investigations
Investigations have been launched into the circumstances leading up to the resignation of former registrar of the High Court Tamara Gibson-Marks.
Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves told SEARCHLIGHT yesterday that the Director of Audit, the Attorney General and the Commissioner of Police are âactively seizedâ of the matter {{more}}and have launched an investigation.
Gibson-Marks, who has been registrar for about six years, resigned last Wednesday, May 21, after being asked to do so by Attorney General Judith Jones-Morgan.
According to a usually reliable source, the attorney general requested Gibson-Markâs resignation during a meeting, which lasted for approximately half an hour last Wednesday.
SEARCHLIGHT has been informed that Gibson-Marks left the country shortly after her meeting with the attorney general, and is now said to be in St Lucia, the land of her birth.
Deputy registrar Lakeisha Caesar Toney is now acting High Court registrar.
Leader of the Opposition Arnhim Eustace, on his weekly radio programme on Nice Radio yesterday, called on Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves to inform the public as to what had transpired, as the post of registrar is a very sensitive one.
