The announcement was made last week by Minister of Agriculture Saboto Caesar, who said that a supermarket chain in New York is embracing trade with St Vincent and the Grenadines.

“The Government is working to create markets for ground provisions,” said Minister Caesar.

According to a release from the Agency for Public Information (API), Caesar added that there are prospects for a similar trade of fish. However, the arrival and departure of Amerijet once per week to St Vincent and the Grenadines would pose some problems.

Caesar said on July 22, he would lead a team on an official visit to Venezuela to discuss the oil for food initiative under the Petro Caribe agreement.
