Hitz FM SVG, Ezee Radio Valentine’s Day winners collect their prizes

The gift of being able to sing melodiously and posing for the camera has its benefits. This was proven last week Thursday — Valentine’s Day, when Keron Cottoy and his girlfriend Chrisann Mofford won the Hitz FM’s SVG’s cutest couple competition and Kenisha Mars, the Ezee Radio Valentine’s Idol. {{more}}

Leading up to February 15, persons were asked to submit photos of themselves to svgbccontests@live.com. The photos were then uploaded to the Hitz fan page.

Persons who submitted photos were also asked to get their family and friends to vote for them by clicking “like” on their photos loaded on the fan page.

The winning couple received 1,665 votes and the second placed couple received 1,287 votes.

“It’s a good feeling to be a winner and I want to thank each and everyone who voted for us.

“It was a lot of hard work and it paid off,” said Keron Cottoy, during the prize-giving ceremony held at the St Vincent and the Grenadines Broadcasting Corporation conference room.

The couple admitted that they had entered the competition “just for fun” but after receiving tons of “likes” to their photos, they decided to go for the grand prize.

“We didn’t plan on making it something serious, but after a while we just kept the pace.

“We started out on top and now we finished on top,” Mofford added.

The lucky couple won themselves dinner for two at French Verandah (three-course meal plus wine), bouquet of flowers from Floranium Services, Massage from De Facialist Spa, Pro Skincare Products & Services, one bottle of CHOCOVIN Wine from Gonsalves Liquors, Capt Yannis Tour to the Grenadines, Valentine’s Gift Set from Coreas City Store, GE Wireless Alarm Security Device from DO it Yourself Security systems, Wine and Valentine’s Cake from Super J and Toni Braxton’s hit CD ‘Breathe Again’ from Music Centre,

Linski Adams and Nakita Emmons, second prize winners, earned themselves dinner for two at Driftwood Restaurant & Lounge in Ratho Mill, flowers from Floranium Services, Valentine’s Gift Basket from Kismet, a bottle of CHOCOVIN Wine from Gonsalves Liquors and a male gift set from Modern Place,

Meanwhile, Chester Cottage resident Keneisha Mars, the EZEE radio Idol winner, described herself as a “very good singer”, earning herself the right to win the grand prize.

Singing Whitney Houston’s “I will always love you” and Celine Dion’s “I Surrender,” Mars won a Valentine’s gift basket from Coreas City Store, dinner for two at French Verandah, flowers from Floranium Services, a facial from the De Facialist Pro Skincare Products & Services, bottles of CHOCOVIN wine from Gonsalves Liquors and an opportunity to visit Ezee Radio for a tour.

“I feel very excited,” she said.

Second place winner, Judith Chance of Peruvian Vale received dinner for two at Driftwood Restaurant and Lounge, flowers from Floranium Services, bottles of wines from Grand Union Supermarket, a perfume/teddy bear gift set from Modern Place and an opportunity to visit Ezee Radio for a tour. (AA)
