Taiwan’s Foreign minister lauds ‘very solid’ relationship with SVG
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan David Lin says that his country has a very special relationship with St Vincent and the Grenadines.{{more}}
Lin, here on a two-day official visit
last week, said that the two countriesâ relationship is one that he considers valuable.
âI like this kind of friendship; very genuine, very solid and also very comfortable, and also our relations can be conducted on such a mutually beneficial basis, we hope that we can continue to do this.â
While here, Lin paid visits to a number of key national officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Douglas Slater, Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, and Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne.
He was hosted at a cocktail party at the Prime Ministerâs Residence on Friday night.
Lin, no stranger to the Caribbean region and St Vincent and the Grenadines, also visited to the Botanic Gardens, the tissue culture farm at Orange Hill, the Rabacca bridge and the international airport terminal building at Argyle.
The foreign minister also brought greetings from President Ma Ying-jeou, who he said has indicated his interest in visiting this country.
âThat is a commitment we hope we can realize,â Lin noted.
Lin commended the prime minister for his leadership, which he described as dynamic and inspiring.
He said that Taiwan was willing to assist in any way possible with the national development of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Lin left the country on Saturday.
