Poor turnout by teachers at March, Rally

Members of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers’ Union last Friday held their annual Teacher’s Solidarity March and Rally, which saw a poor turnout by teachers.{{more}}

The event commemorates the 1975 march in which protesting teachers were protested and some arrested.

In 1975, the educators wanted to underscore the need for better working conditions in schools, better wages and for teachers to be recognized as nation-builders.

President of the SVGTU, Oswald Robinson, addressed the small gathering at Heritage Square on Friday.
