87-year-old wins Super Six jackpot

One day after she celebrated her 87th birthday, retired nurse’s assistant Festina Hutchinson collected her jackpot cheque for being the latest winner of the National Lotteries Authority Super Six draw.{{more}}

Hutchinson became the seventh Vincentian to win the Super Six jackpot since the game, which is also played in Dominica, St Lucia and Grenada, was introduced in December 2004.

She is also the second winner from St Vincent and the Grenadines, for the year.

The mother of three collected the cheque for $256,500 after taxes, from the April 24 estimated jackpot of $285,000.

A quiet and calm Hutchinson, who returned to St Vincent 20 years ago, after spending forty years between the United States and the United Kingdom, said that she is feeling ‘good in her old age’ to win the jackpot, selecting the numbers 1, 8,11,18, 22 and 24 randomly at the James Bobb retail store in Mount Grenan.

She pointed out that she would be leaving all monetary dealings to her daughter, who resides in the United States.

General Manager of the NLA McGregor Sealy, in congratulating Hutchinson, used the opportunity to encourage patrons of all ages to continue supporting the various games.

“It just goes to show that anybody at any age can win with the National Lottery.”

“So it is important that you play all the time, because you never know when your time is going to come.” (JJ)
