A reliable police source told SEARCHLIGHT that a telephone call was made to the court about a week ago, during which the caller made certain comments, which they (the police) regard as threats to McDonald.
The source said the incident has seen more security placed at the Family Court and at McDonaldâs residence.
On September 3, 2008, McDonald refused to issue a summons to Dr Ralph Gonsalves when lawyers representing a policewoman who had accused the Prime Minister of raping her re-filed the matter in the Family Court.
McDonald had described the application for the issue of the summons as âfrivolous, vexatious and an abuse of the process of the courtâ.
The threats are still under investigation. (KW)
