Police reports state that gunshots were heard in the area about 9:30pm the night before, and when day cleared the quiet youngster was found with a single gunshot wound to the head.
Okeefeâs grieving mother Michelle, too distraught to be photographed, spoke to SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday concerning her first born child.
Surrounded and consoled by sisters and other relatives at her childhood home in Campden Park, the pregnant woman indicated that her son was known to be a very quiet individual, who kept to himself most of the times.
âHe never tell me anything, even if he was having problems. To say he selling drugs or he doing anything – I donât know!â
âI donât know where he would be or what he was doing.â
Michelle remembers her son leaving home on Thursday afternoon; he visited family and friends in Campden Park.
He was seen taking a van leaving the area and getting off at Hospital Corner at about 8:30pm.
What happened in the last hour of his life is unclear.
Gunshots were heard on Thursday evening, and one person reported seeing someone being chased and shot at by other individuals.
Other reports claim that one person was chased into a shop in Kingstown by assailants; he was kept there until it was time for the business place to close.
Holding back tears, Michelle made an appeal for anyone having information to come forward to help bring her sonâs killer or killers to justice.
She also urged parents to be more involved in what their children are doing.
She said that parents should know who their childrenâs friends are and what they are up to.
She also lamented that since her son was killed, she had not been contacted by the police, either asking for information or giving any to her.
The hurting mother, who joins the statistics for mothers who are losing their young sons to gun violence, said that she is uncertain as to how she will face the future without âSpenx.â
âI canât believe somebody go kill my only child. If he do them something they could at least cripple him and I woulda look after him for the rest of he life.â
âI canât do this without him.â
