Girls’ High School continues top showing

The Girls’ High School has continued its trend of excellent performance at the Caribbean Examinations Council’s (*CXC) CSEC level this year. There were 979 subject entries at the General Proficiency level in twenty-one (21) subject areas, with an overall pass rate of 96.01%. {{more}}
The subject areas where 100 per cent passes were recorded include Biology, Clothing and Textiles, Food & Nutrition Geography, Home Economics Management Office Procedures, Principles of Accounts, Principles of Business, Social Studies and Music.
This outstanding showing was closely followed by 99.12 % passes in English Language, 98.57% in Spanish, 98.39% in Integrated Science and 97.22% in Physics. At the Basic Proficiency level Spanish recorded a 100% pass rate.
This year the results in English A (Language), English B (Literature), Physics, Principles of Accounts, Principles of Business and Social Studies are significant for the number of grade ones recorded in these areas.
The School’s individual top performers were Mandella Campbell with eleven (11) passes, ten (10) grade ones and one (1) grade two and Julianna Francis also with eleven (11) passes, six (6) grade ones and five (5) grade twos. Fifteen (15) other subjects passed ten (10) subjects with commendable grades.
