Labourer pleads not guilty to Theft and Assault
A Barrouallie man was arrested on March 9, 2026, and charged with the offenses of theft and assault.
The police said in a release that Haynes Harry,50, a labourer is alleged to have stolen one red and white book bag, brand unknown, valued at EC120.00; one gold plaited chain, valued at Bds$250.00; one gold plaited wrist watch, valued at Bds$250.00; and EC $200.00 in cash the property of a 49-year-old labourer of Barrouallie.
He was further charged with assaulting the same complainant by pushing him to the ground causing actual bodily harm.
The offences were alleged to have been committed in Barrouallie on March 8, 2026.
Harry appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on March 10, 2026, where he pleaded not guilty. He was granted composite bail in the sum of EC$2,500.00 with one surety. He was ordered not to have any contact with the virtual complainant and to report to the Barrouallie Police Station every Wednesday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The matter was adjourned and transferred to the Barrouallie Magistrate Court for April 14, 2026.
