Police Investigating Road Traffic Accident in Georgetown

The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force is investigating the circumstances surrounding an accident which occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, along the Magum Public Road, Georgetown.

The accident involved a passenger bus which struck two cyclists, both minors. Following the accident, an ambulance was promptly dispatched, and both minors were transported to the Georgetown Modern Medical Hospital for medical attention.

One minor, a 13-year-old from London, Sandy Bay, sustained injuries and remains admitted at the hospital. The second minor, also 13 years old from Overland, was treated for injuries and subsequently discharged.

Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident are ongoing.

The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force is urging all road users to exercise caution, particularly during evening hours. Special appeal is being made to young cyclists to use the road responsibly and to wear protective gear at all times. The public is reminded that it is an offence to ride a bicycle without a helmet.

Adults are also encouraged to play an active role in road safety by guiding and correcting young persons when unsafe or reckless use of the roadway is observed. Road safety remains a shared responsibility.
