VAT free day later this month, says new PM
VINCENTIANS will have one day this month when they will not pay Value Added Tax (VAT) on their purchases.
This was announced on Monday, December 1, 2025 by Prime Minister, Dr Godwin Friday, shortly after arriving for his first day of work at the Financial Complex, in the capital, Kingstown.
Speaking on the ground floor of the building, Dr Friday said people expected to have the VAT free day on December 1, as was promised during the NDP’s general elections campaign. He said, however, it was not possible to do do on Monday as the Cabinet had not been sworn in.
