Asian man charged with assault
A man of Asian descent was yesterday charged with assault at the Kingstown Magistrateâs Court.{{more}}
Cane Garden resident Chunla Wu was charged that on June 18 in Kingstown, he assaulted Thijah Wilson of Belair, causing actual bodily harm, contrary to section 193 of the Criminal Code.
Wu, who barely speaks English, pleaded not guilty through his translator Jamali Jack.
He is currently on station bail and the court has ordered that he have no contact with Wilson.
The trial is expected to begin on August 15.(AS)
