Ottley Hall resident charged with murder of New Montrose man

A 24-year-old Ottley Hall resident is now in custody, having been charged with the murder of New Montrose resident, Dexter Weekes.

Junior Nash appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Tuesday, but was not allowed to plead to the indictable charge.{{more}}

Weekes, a 49-year-old mentally challenged man, was stabbed and killed on October 17, at Rose Place, Kingstown.

A police report said that Weekes was stabbed at about 6 a.m. and was rushed to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH), where he died at around 7:20 a.m.

When the Preliminary Inquiry is held on January 25, 2016, 11 witnesses are expected to testify in the matter.(KW)
