Men charged with stealing EC$30,810 from credit union
Two men, who are charged with entering the Marriaqua Cooperative Credit Union and stealing a vault containing EC$30,810 were yesterday granted bail in the amount of $50,000 each.{{more}}
The men: Daniel McFee of Ottley Hall and Nicholas James of Mesopotamia, appeared at the Serious Offences Court yesterday and were charged with stealing a grey metal vault, valued at $1,104.15 and its contents of EC$30,810 between June 10 and 11, 2014.
They were also charged with stealing BDS$410, US$485, CDN$20 in cash from the vault and EC$18,220.65 in cheques.
They both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate Zoila Ellis- Browne ordered the men to surrender their travel documents and report to the Mesopotamia and Central Police Stations respectively, on Mondays and Fridays.
The matter was adjourned and transferred to the Mesopotamia Magistrateâs Court for hearing on August 15.(KW)
