Thaddeus Cox, 24, was arrested and charged for having three firearms, including one shot gun and two 9 mm pistols and 424 pounds of marijuana, on June 29, at the McKie Mountains in Richmond, following a raid by Rapid Response Unit (RRU) personnel, headed by Corporal 723 Nolan Dallaway.
Cox, who was barefoot when he appeared at the Kingstown Magistrateâs Court yesterday, pleaded guilty to the charges laid before him.
However, he explained that he was not an occupant of the hut where the officers found the guns and drugs.
âI say I donât know nothing about the drugs and the guns. I get caught, so I take the blame,â Cox said.
Police alleged that after apparently recognizing their presence, Cox ran from the hut, but was subsequently caught a few yards away.
In light of what he said, the court entered a not guilty plea of Coxâs behalf and remanded him in custody.
Police Constable 394 McDowall was the arresting officer.
