Men charged with possession of ammunition and cannabis

Fitz-Hughes residents Donell George, 30 and David Sandy, 27, were each granted $20,000 bail yesterday after appearing at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on ammunition and cannabis related charges.{{more}}

Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge of possession of seven rounds of 12 gauge ammunition, without a licence. They also pleaded not guilty to three separate charges of possession of 1,059 grammes, 824 grammes and 340 grammes of cannabis with intent to supply.

All of the charges follow a raid on June 14 of the defendants’ home at Fitz Hughes by members of the Rapid Response Unit (RRU).

The matter was adjourned to July 9, 2014 and transferred to the Serious Offences Court for hearing.
