Gibson-Marks will make herself available – Lawyer

The lawyer representing former registrar of the High Court Tamara Gibson Marks has indicated that should his client be required for an interview, she will make herself available.

According to a source close to the investigations,{{more}} in a letter dated May 29, lawyer Duane Daniel wrote Attorney General Judith Jones-Morgan saying that Gibson-Marks is out of state attending to personal affairs.

The letter, which was copied to the Director of Public Prosecutions, also said that the former registrar is aware that there is an ongoing investigation.

Gibson-Marks resigned on May 21, 2014, after being asked to do so by the Attorney General. She is said to have left the state shortly after resigning.

The former registrar is at the midst of investigations being carried out by the Commissioner of Police, the Attorney General and the Director of Audit into the alleged misappropriation of funds from a trust account.

A source told SEARCHLIGHT that up to press time, Gibson-Marks had deposited, through her lawyer, $130,000 of the approximately $300,000 which had been allegedly misappropriated from an account at the St Vincent Cooperative Bank.

When SEARCHLIGHT contacted Daniel on Wednesday, he confirmed that he had written to the Attorney General on behalf of Gibson-Marks but declined to comment further.
