Chief Magistrate Sonya Young, yesterday at the Serious Offences Court, set the date for the six men who were allegedly nabbed by police just off the coast in Chateaubelair in February.

In addition to being charged with the 1,999 pounds of cannabis, the men: Godfrey Cumberbatch of Glen, Ezekiel Robin of Clare Valley, Calvert Prince and Daniel Baptiste of Petit Bordel, Ragiv de Shong of Redemption Sharpes and Denzil Sam of Ottley Hall, were also charged with having in their possession an additional 3,632 grams (8 pounds) of cannabis with intent to supply.

Up to press time, only three of the men: Baptiste, Robin and Cumberbatch have been able to meet their bail of $100,000.

Bail was set at that figure, with two sureties for each accused. (KW)
