He was apprehended by police on February 25 at the Grenadines wharf around 12:45.

The court heard that Roberts was making his way to Mustique, and had a bag, which was discovered to contain the drug following a search conducted by police.

“You have no previous convictions, were you going to supply the whole of Mustique with marijuana?” Magistrate Rechanne Brown-Matthias questioned.

“You will have plenty money to pay,” she cautioned before she handed down a fine of $5,500 or a one year prison term.

He was subsequently ordered to pay $1,500 forthwith or spend six months in jail and given until May 20 to pay the remaining $4,000. (DD)
