Walter ‘Bree’ Briggs has found himself on the wrong side of the law once again.{{more}}

Briggs appeared before Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court yesterday after being charged with theft.

He pleaded not guilty to stealing a gold chain, valued at $1,400 and a gold pendant ($300) from Daniel Baptiste of Rillan Hill.

Briggs pleaded with the court for mercy and requested that he post his own bail, to which the prosecutor gave consent.

He was placed on $800 bail, with the condition that he reports to the Central Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 6 a.m. and

6 p.m.

Back in 2012, Briggs said that he was making a change, having lived on the streets for a number of years and that he was elevating himself from the streets to the studio.

With the assistance of Soca Dan Rondy ‘Luta’ McIntosh, he produced the hit ‘Paint Brush’.

Briggs’ next appearance in court is set for March 17. (DD)
