Woman accused of setting man on fire with rum

A woman from Francois, Vermont, is currently remanded at this country’s female prison facility at Fort Charlotte, having been accused of dousing her common law husband with rum and lighting him on fire.{{more}}

Princess Browne appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Tuesday and is remanded until December 24, pending a medical report on Cornel Robbin.

She was not allowed to plea to the charge of grievous bodily harm.

Senior prosecutor in the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Adolphus Delpesche informed the court that Robbin is in serious condition at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital and, according to his information, has a 50/50 chance of survival.

The matter was adjourned to April 16, 2014, when the prosecution intends to call five witnesses in the matter.
