Franklin was remanded in custody after he was jointly charged with stealing four silver hub caps, belonging to Max Toney of Cedars on November 11, at Cane Hall.
According to counsel Grant Connell, Franklin took the hub caps as part of an agreement, after the virtual complainant (Toney) damaged a gold bangle, the property of Franklin.
Connell informed the court that Toney had agreed to settle the payment, but that he (Toney) pulled a gun on Franklin during the encounter.
The attorney made the argument that this was an area of concern and that Toney should be brought before the court to answer the claim that he drew a weapon.
ASP Glenford Gregg guided the court and recommended that Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias remand Franklin in custody until Toney is served to appear in court by the police. (DD)
