Prison officer to stand trial at High Court for attempted murder of his wife

The case involving Steve Samuel, the prison officer charged with the attempted murder of his 41-year-old wife Wilda Samuel has been referred to the High Court.{{more}}

On Tuesday, Chief Magistrate Sonya Young made the ruling, following the conclusion of the preliminary inquiry which began last week.

According to the chief magistrate, Samuel will be tried at the next practical sitting of the High Court.

“You will be tried by a judge and jury and will be summoned when that court is ready,” Young said.

Samuel, a resident of Fitz Hughes, is accused of attempting to kill his wife of fourteen years. The woman sustained chop wounds to both hands and arms during an altercation with her husband. (DD)
