In addition, he was slapped with a further 15-year custodial sentence for the attempted murder of Vasilka Maloney, also of Greiggs.

Wilson, 37, a mason, was convicted on Friday, March 8, 2013 by a twelve-member mixed jury at the High Court, for the murder of Stephmnie Daniel, also of Greiggs.

The sentences will run concurrently.

During the trial, the crown’s case was that on August 14, 2011, Daniel, a 33-year-old mother of three, was in the company of Shirley Wilson at Shirley’s home, when Wilson showed up. Wilson accused Daniel of talking about him, which Shirley Wilson denied.

When the deceased attempted to get up from where she was seated, Aubrey Wilson pushed her down on a chair. Daniel again attempted to get up from where she was seated, when her attacker pulled her towards him and stabbed her in the neck with a knife.

Surviving victim Maloney had told the court that after Wilson had inflicted the fatal stab to her friend, as he was passing her, he said “and you too”.

The murder convict then attacked Maloney, but she managed to fend him off. However, she sustained injuries to the left side of her face and left hand.

In his testimony Aubrey Wilson told the court when he went into the porch to talk to the deceased, Maloney came and said, “Mek you don’t leave the [expletive] girl”.

He testified that Maloney was standing behind him and the deceased was facing him when Maloney pulled a knife from her bosom.

He said he saw Maloney coming with the knife and he pushed Daniel. She then collided with Maloney, causing both of them to fall to the ground.

He said he did not stab the deceased.
