Antiguan fined $8,000 for traffic, immigration offences

An Antiguan man who is wanted by police in his country in connection with a number of gun related crimes, was on Wednesday, February 6, slapped with over EC$8,000 in fines for traffic and immigration offences.{{more}}

Robert “Robbie” Spencer Jr first appeared at the Serious Offences Court on January 25 and pleaded guilty to entering the state without consent, driving motor vehicle R2581 without a seat belt, driving without insurance and falsifying an entry in his passport.

Chief Magistrate Sonya Young fined Spencer EC$2,000 forthwith or five months in jail on the illegal entry charge.

He was fined EC$300 forthwith for driving without a seat belt or five months in jail.

For driving without insurance, he was fined EC$4,000 forthwith or five months in prison. And for falsifying an entry in his passport, he was fined EC$2,000 or spend five months in jail.

SEARCHLIGHT understands that the fines have already been paid.

Spencer, of the Friars Hill Road/Hodges Bay area, is said to have been in St Vincent since 2012, on the run from Antiguan police.

Spencer is said to be wanted by the Royal Antigua and Barbuda Police Force for gun possession and shooting with intent.
