Prison officer charged with attempted murder of wife on bail

A prison officer who is alleged to have attempted to murder his wife has been released on $20,000 bail.{{more}}

Stephen Samuel, 42, appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Monday, December 31 and was not required to plea to the charge, which was laid indictibly.

It is alleged that Wilda Samuel, 41, of Rose Hall, sustained chop wounds on both hands and arms during an altercation with her husband at Chateaubelair on December 22, 2012.

Magistrate Ricky Burnette also ordered that Samuel have no contact with the complainant and that he surrender his travel documents.

The Fitz Hughes resident was also made to report to the Chateaubelair Police Station every Monday.

The matter was adjourned to yesterday, Thursday.
