More charges slapped against Ola Thomas

Ola Thomas’ legal woes continue.

Thomas, a resident of Redemption Sharpes, currently awaiting sentence on four charges of deception, found himself back at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court yesterday, slapped with five more charges of theft and deception.{{more}}

Thomas pleaded guilty to all of the charges when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Donald Browne.

He was charged with stealing one Bank of SVG Visa Card, valued at $1,500, the property of Kendrick Frederick of Bequia on December 19, 2011, at Cane Garden.

He further pleaded guilty to stealing an RBTT Visa Card valued at $500, property of Kendrick Frederick of Bequia on December 19, 2011, at Cane Garden.

On December 30, 2011 at Kingstown, Thomas, by deception, obtained an ironing board, face towel, rags, eight hangers, a three-piece towel set and laundry basket, all valued at $325.55, the property of Edwin D. Layne and Sons. On the same date, Thomas obtained six boxer briefs and two Van Heussen shirts valued at $321.99, also the property of Edwin D. Layne and Sons.

Thomas again, on December 31, at Kingstown, by deception, obtained two spools of sewing thread, a Hanes T-shirt, a pair of Van Heussen trousers, totalling $110.80, the property of Edwin D. Layne and Sons.

However, the facts of the matters were not read out in court since Thomas’ lawyer, Duane Daniel was out of state.

Thomas first appeared in court on April 16, charged with obtaining, by deception, several electronic items, the property of Missed Call Tech in Kingstown, totalling more than $20,000.

He is yet to be sentenced on those matters.

Thomas was remanded in custody and the matter was adjourned to May 29.(KW)
