Sharpes men get jail time for robbery, firearm possession
Redemption Sharpes residents Jeremy Laborde and Kimron Neverson were on Monday sentenced to 10 and three years imprisonment respectively after pleading guilty to robbery and possession of a firearm with intent to commit and offence.{{more}}
High Court judge, Frederick Bruce-Lyle sentenced Laborde to 10 years imprisonment on both counts and Neverson to three years on both counts.
The sentences will run concurrently.
Both men pleaded guilty at the arraignment stages of the Assizes to robbing Troy Eustace at gunpoint and relieving him of a Blackberry smartphone valued at $750, a leather wallet valued at $35, an identification card, a debit card and another cellular phone at about 7:30 a.m. on January 7, 2011 at Paul Over.
The court heard that the Eustace was walking in the area when two masked men approached him and demanded that he hand over his belongings.
The men were not legally represented.(KW)
