“I know I woulda beat this charge. Me and nobody ain’t have nothing…Is eight months we in jail living off ah tuna and egg. I looking back for my work to feed my family,” Brudy said, shortly after he was cleared of a murder charge.

At the Preliminary Inquiry last Friday, prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche withdrew murder charges against Brudy and Dwayne Banfield, both of Edinboro.

The men were jointly charged, along with Devron St John, for the murder of CD vendor Shawn Gordon of Rillan Hill.

Gordon was discovered face down with a gunshot wound to the left side of his head in an area known as Neverson Gap, Edinboro, at 9:15 p.m. on December 19, 2010.

However, before the men were freed, they gave testimony for the prosecution.

St John is now the lone man facing the murder charge.

The defense, led by counsel Arthur Williams, said they are going to make submissions in the matter when it resumes on May 24 at the Serious Offences Court.

Banfield told SEARCHLIGHT: “I just cool. I glad I free still and everything safe now…”(KW)
