A prisoner was so excited to see his girlfriend in court, that he got up, went to where she was seated and kissed her.{{more}}

“I deeply apologise for what I have done. It’s been ah while, you know…,” the man explained to Senior Magistrate Donald Browne on Monday, April 23.

Police officers who saw what happened quickly ordered the prisoner back to his seat.

“You know that is contempt of court? This is a court of law, not a lovers’ nest,” Browne told the woman.

The woman then asked, “You finish?”

An irate Browne then said, “I am trying to talk to you and you talking back to me? Don’t make me get the Inspector to charge you. Have respect for the court next time…,” Browne said firmly.

The police officers then ordered the woman out of the courtroom.

Browne also told the prisoner not to do such a thing again.

“We have to maintain integrity of the court. What you have shown is gross disrespect,” Browne added.(KW)
