Man breaks into Tony’s Original Pizza

To satisfy his thirst Allison Gibson broke into Tony’s Original Pizza uptown and stole 13 Hairoun beers and 24 bottles of Guinness stout.

The 27-year-old Kingstown labourer was sentenced to 18 months after pleading guilty to the charge when he was hauled before the Serious Offences Court on Wednesday.{{more}}

The court heard that the owner secured his business place on Saturday night and at about 10 pm the defendant is said to have climbed on top of the building and entered through a space in the roof. He then took the items out of the fridge and escaped through a window.

Gibson explained that he only took the drinks to satisfy his thirst, “Well I mostly tek dem fo ah drink,” Gibson said.

Chief Magistrate Simone Churaman, took account of Gibson’s 24 previous convictions of a similar nature and found it fit that a custodial sentence be imposed on him.
