Fisherman on murder charge

Kemeon Cozier, a 20-year-old fisherman of Paget Farm Bequia, was arrested and charged for the murder of Timothy Grant, a 27-year-old farmer of the same address on the 24 March 2006.{{more}}

Reports are that at about 8:30 p.m., an altercation developed between the deceased and another man which resulted in the deceased being shot in the back of his upper left shoulder with a fish gun. He was taken to the Bequia Hospital where he succumbed to the injury.

Cozier appeared before Chief Magistrate Simone Churaman last Wednesday March 29 2006 at the Serious Offences Court in Kingstown. However the Chief Magistrate remanded him in custody until 15 May when there will be a preliminary inquiry into the matter. Lawyer Cecil ‘Blazer’ Williams represented Cozier.
