Martin succumbed to a stab wound to her neck, allegedly inflicted by Young shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday, September 12, this year.

It is alleged that around 2 a.m., Young was in the vicinity of the Park Hill Community Centre where there was an activity taking place when Martin came from the said centre. There was a brief conversation before he suddenly stabbed her with a knife.

It is further alleged that Martin was taken to the nearby Park Hill District Clinic where she died shortly after.
