Coast Guard intercept large drug shipment

Three Vincentians and two Dominicans were arrested when the local Coast Guard last Saturday intercepted a foreign boat with a 200HP engine at Richmond Point, netting a haul of 1,107 pounds of marijuana.{{more}}
The boat, captained by Dominican national Dawson James, was reportedly heading for open waters shortly after 1.00 p.m Saturday when it was intercepted.
Vincentians Orlando Samuel, 25, of Argyle was charged with possessing 128 lbs of marijuana with intent to supply; Randolph Samuel, 22, of Campden Park was charged with possessing 105 lbs of marijuana with intent to supply; Lennox John, 42, of Campden Park was charged with possessing 307 lbs of marijuana with intent to supply.
The Dominicans Dawson James, 36, and Rawlins Rolle, 24, were jointly charged with possessing 567 lbs of marijuana with intent to supply.
The men appeared before the Serious Offences Court on Monday where they pleaded not guilty to their respective charges and were remanded in custody. They are being represented by former Attorney General, Arthur Williams.
The men are expected to return to Court for trial on September 14, this year.
