Resurrection and the life
Easter Message from: The St Vincent and the Grenadines Christian Council ‘I am the resurrection and the life. If anyone believes in me, even though he dies he will live, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.’ (John 11:25-26) ‘Till this moment they had failed to understand the teaching of scripture, that He must rise from the dead’ (John 20: 9) Easter emerges not just as a holiday but as a profound spiritual experience. It’s a time of rebirth and renewal, echoing the promise of hope that emerged from the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It represents the cornerstone of faith, a moment that assures believers of eternal life. The roots of Easter run deep in the soil of humanity’s struggles and triumphs, and its celebration allows us to engage in a deeper understanding of what it means to walk in faith.
Easter is an extraordinary occasion for us to dive deeper into our spiritual lives and reconnect with the essence of our faith. It invites joy, hope, and renewal while reflecting on Jesus’ profound sacrifice and miraculous resurrection. Engaging in prayer and personal reflection during this season not only enriches our faith journeys but also solidifies our bonds within the wider faith community. The power of resurrection calls us as believers to shed our burdens, be it guilt, pain, or anxiety, and to rise anew. This transformational belief allows for feelings of forgiveness and is an important part of our spirituality. Living in the spirit of Easter involves actively choosing joy and hope in all circumstances. This spirituality can transform our everyday experiences, shift our perspective and fulfil the call to be a light in the world.
Scripture tells us that we are made new in Christ, because the same power that raised Him from the dead now lives in us. This is not a seasonal feeling or a once-a-year celebration. It’s a daily reality. Every morning is Easter morning when we walk in the power of the resurrection.
We celebrate Easter this year, amid a world experiencing war; a nation facing economic, climate and health traumas, even as the scourge of crime and violence continues in our communities. As such, Easter is a glorious opportunity for us Christians to invite those who have not yet believed, to put their trust in Jesus Christ so that they too may have hope for deliverance.
As we walk through this Easter season, let the profound love and hope of Christ envelop us and inspire a vibrant and renewed spirit that endures. Embrace the message of resurrection and allow it to mold our life into a testament of faith, love, and unwavering hope.
It’s a season of rejoicing. Christ has risen. Alleluia!
Happy Easter!
