Should marijuana be legalized just for medical use, or should possession of the herb be decriminalized altogether? Or do you think that possession of marijuana should remain illegal in all circumstances?

Should marijuana be legalized just for medical use, or should possession of the herb be decriminalized altogether? Or do you think that possession of marijuana should remain illegal in all circumstances?

Fri Sep 20, 2013

Andre Browne:

I think they should keep it as it is. And if they are going to have it legalized… for medical purposes, I still think that some way there will be abuse of it still. The system needs to be set to make sure it is not abused, which is very hard to do. But then again if you legalise it, it will cut down on some of the criminal activity.{{more}}

Deighton Daniel (online)

Leave it the way it is. When you legalize it, the small man is not going make any money. It will become a big shot thing. Do something about the cocaine. The big shot them making money off that.

Carl Huggins:

I think it should be legalized just for medical purposes alone. Remember marijuana itself is dangerous to the brain cells if you abuse it. There are some uses that it can be good for the body, like for asthma and so on.

Juliana Pompey Garrickashtonmascall (online)

Legalize it for all purposes. It will cut down on the drug dealers making money, and it will free up the courts and police to deal with much more serious issues.

Latoya Stowe:

I think it should remain illegal. I don’t think that everyone will use it for medicinal purposes. I think they will just abuse the privilege.

Delose Findlay (online)

Hell, no! Let’s think about our children. We know the dangers of marijuana. Let’s be leaders, not followers.

Martin Quashie:

For medical purposes, I think they should go that way. You have to have a prescription from the doctor and the person will keep that paper from the doctor, so that in the case that police come to his place. And it should be of a certain quantity, not like you should have a forest; that would not work. You can’t just jump into something and you don’t know the consequences later on, so I think there should be more conversation about it.

Cherry Borrows (online)

Yes, it should be. Marijuana is a very good medicine for a lot of things, including cancer. It was made illegal by racist Americans. Marijuana can also help our economy and tourism. People who think it is a harmful drug need to go do the research and stop looking like fools.

Anthony Garraway:

When I heard about this medical marijuana, I don’t see this as a bad idea. In my opinion I still think making a certain amount of the ganja legal to persons, it probably could slow down the crime rate, if you are allowed to have a certain quantity. I think it would make it much easier.

Kristin Duncan:

I think that marijuana should be legalized for medical purposes only, because its God’s herb and God put it there for a reason and a purpose, and if the purpose is to help people, then we should legalize it for medicine only.
