Christmas Messages

For it is in giving that we receive

Police Cooperative Credit Union’s Christmas Message 2016

Bro Junior O Simmons,

President

Fellow Vincentians, co-operators, as we celebrate yet another time the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and another yuletide season, on behalf of the SVG Police Cooperative Credit Union Limited (PCCU), I wish you joy, peace, good health and prosperity for this and many other Christmases to come.

The PCCU is one of the four remaining credit unions in St Vincent and the Grenadines and we are proud, yet humbled with regard to our service to this blessed nation and our members in particular, as we endeavour “towards a sustainable financial future” for all.{{more}}

In so doing, we offer a wide range of services to our membership including, but not limited to, an assortment of loan products, scholarships and bursaries, shares, dividend of shares, funeral grants, fixed deposits at favourable interest rates and the very popular Junior Savers Challenge. I am pleased to report that on Friday, December 30, 2016, the PCCU will be rewarding one hundred and thirty-five (135) Junior Savers with one tablet each for successfully completing the ‘challenge’. This will no doubt be a bonus Christmas gift for them.

Christmas is indeed one of most joyous of times universally; it is an occasion when people make an extraordinary especial effort to bring happiness to some else’s life, by generously sharing and giving to friends, family, the needy and so on.

Brothers and sisters, the PCCU has been in that ‘Christmas mood’ from since the beginning of the year, primarily to fulfil our corporate social responsibility – by giving back in a tangible way to those who choose to invest with us, other individuals and to the society in general.

The following is a list some of just some of the projects, causes and initiatives that the PCCU has donated to and sponsored for 2016: secondary school scholarships and bursaries, health, sports, ministry, crime prevention, youth development, steelpan, co-operativism and Christmas carolling.

Fellow Vincentians, the PCCU by the grace of God, the commitment of its members, volunteers, staff and well-wishers continues to evolve. In July of this year, the PCCU was successful in achieving one of its enduring dreams of owing its own home when the board of directors, with a mandate from our membership, made the bold decision to purchase the former Voyager building on Bay Street.

This new stage in PCCU’s history will no doubt bring opportunities and challenges, but we eagerly look forward to maximizing the opportunities and minimizing the challenges.

So, brothers and sisters, as we live our vision by seeking “to be the premier financial institution creating wealth for its stakeholders,” I encourage you to come and share that vision with us; you do not have to be a police officer to be a member of the PCCU; all are welcomed.

On behalf of our membership, board of directors, volunteers and staff, I wish every Vincentian at home and in the diaspora a joyous Christmas and a new year filled with peace, prosperity and productivity. To our members, my fellow directors, management committees, staff and their families, I also wish to thank you for your dedication and service to the PCCU. To God be the Glory.
