Why dey bran we corrupt

He was wanted by de FBI, dey claim dat his international operation spans the Caribbean, North America and de U.K. De US Justice Dept. placed him on de “world’s most dangerous” list. But at home in Jah-mek-her, Dudus is lorded by his supporters as de poor man’s friend, ah Robin Hood.{{more}} He’s dey save-yah, provides dem wid food, clothes, medicine, school books and even shelter. He literally supply dey material needs when not even dey representer, de Prime Minister was able to provided foh dem. Deep in dey hearts, dey believe Dudus genuinely cares foh dem, he is like dey shepherd, dey shall not want, he had dem grazing in green pastures. Yet when ah warrant was out foh his arrest and extradition to de USA foh Drug trafficking, he mek sure and went in hiding, and lef dem out out in de green pastures to stop de bullets intended foh him. Over ah hundred ah his beloved supporters were killed by security forces in ah bloody massacre in de streets of Tivoli, while he remained protected! Some love dat is!

All dat human destruction could have been avoided, if only Dudus had given up himself from de beginning? But Dudus was allowed to resist extradition because, it is no secret dat de Prime Minister was in his corner. Rather dan hand over Dudus ley he go and defend himself in de USA, Prime Minister Gaol-ding like he wanted to try de case by himself saying dat de evidence was flawed.

Yuh see dis issue wid people wanted in another friendly country foh ah crime, de solution is to hand dem over right away, mek dem go and defend demself. De least we should do is to mek sure dat dey get proper legal representation. Even Lie-Za who is very intolerant when come to Drug related matters, was amazed dat was only last week, Guv-ah-mint decided to tek de bull by de horn, and extradite de three Vincy men wanted in de Virgin Islands on Drug related charges. We had dem here in custody foh almost ah year, dey appealed, and was adjournment after adjournment, den when de case fell against dem dey appealed. Yuh know how much it cost to feed three men, three meals ah day foh ah year?

Allowing people to appeal extradition orders, sends bad signals, we might look like we have ah fair measure ah de-mock-we-see, way people getting justice; but De US states department see it differently. SVG will be seen as ah country stalling alleged criminals from answering to dey crime. Dat is one ah several reasons, note ah said “one” why US Congressman Richard Gates say dat Sin Kitts and Sin Vin Sin are two ah de most corrupt islands in de Caribbean. Ah won’t be surprised if Gates not referring to things like de US million dollars at NCB scandal; de illegal four million “Vote Yes” money, cases getting Nolly Puss and so on.

But all ah begging de Guv-ah-mint to do now, is to pass ah Bill, like how dey did “hurry-hurry” and pass ah Bill to raise de dollar tax foh Grenadines people, state in dis new Bill dat “any body here, who is wanted to answer criminal charges in any country way de Justice system is reputable, will be handed over”! When dey commit dey crime, either serve de time or pay de fine!

CHECK OUT DE WIFE SHOES

My heart bleeds foh de hoteliers in SVG dis time ah year. Occupancy is way down, and unfortunately locals don’t consider ah night out foh dinner will help some hotels to pay foh utilities. Ah say dis because de Mothers at Gospel Hall Mesopotamia were swept off dey toes on Mother’s Day, when de Fathers in de church took dem to Tea, and listen to live music by Mathew Thomas and de Grave Diggers,. Dey were overwhelmed, too much foh dem to handle, so dey decide to reciprocate in ah bigger way wid ah surprise Fathers Day dinner at Hotel Alexandrina up at Prospect. Dis is one lovely hideout, hard to find in de night, but de service and ham-be-ants is fantastic, poolside bar, spacious grounds. Somehow ah believe de drinks got mixed up and dem ladies got too much sparkle in dey wine, and it all came out when dey toasted de men. Sadly, de men were put to shame when de “match de wife shoes” game was played. All de ladies shoes were thrown in ah heap and husbands were asked to pick out dey wife’s pair. Before dey say go, Bro Pompey matched his wife’s, had to be he who bought dem. But Bro Bascombe had problems, after several attempts, he gave up. From now on though, any time de wife and I going out, ah making sure ah write down what colour shoes she wearing,. . Please, what yuh read hey, ley it stop hey!

DAME MONICA MY ART TEACHER

Congrats are in order foh my Art Teacher, Dame Monica Dacon. What ah humble lady she remains. Ah remember at de Starlift Christmas Show, dey had seats reserved but she came in unannounced, and sat next to me way de ordinary people was. Somebody saw her and realized somebody slipped-up, so dey came over to take her wid de Hi-T Ti-T folks, in her calm and quiet manner of speech, she assured dem dat she was quite alright. We chatted and when ah was going to buy me ah drink, ah jokingly invited her have ah beer wid me, ah think she thought ah meant ah Bear! again politely she smiled and said she was O.K. Ah happy she gets ah Knighthood, but somehow ah still remember dem low marks she uses to give me foh Art. Ah believe my drawing was terrible! And wid dat, is gone ah gone again.
